This presentation will review floodplains and flood control structures managed by the Texas Soil and Water Conservation Board and local Soil and Water conservation Districts. Attendees will learn about how floodplains can affect agricultural use options, how flood control structures are managed by the local SWCD, and address misconceptions about them. This information is relevant to real estate agents as providing notice regarding floodplains is required. Further, knowing where floodplains exist and what restrictions are in place for specific floodplains will enable realtors to better represent their clients in real estate transactions.
